His Way Ministries

 

Jim founded His Way Ministries in 1970.  He was born and raised in Lawrence, Kansas. In 1952 he married Fleta R. Rhodes.  Fleta went Home to be with the Lord in 2005.  In 2006 Jim married Peggy Sandusky.  Peggy immediately became an intrical part of the His Way team.  Jim & Peggy reside at Buffalo Ridge in Williamsburg, Kansas.

Chaplain Jim Robinson:

1949-1952 Attended Greenville College, Greenville, Illinois.

1952-1954 Attended Kansas State Teachers College, Pittsburgh, Kansas, Graduated 1954 - B.S. in Education.

1954-1956 U.S. Army. Served in Signal Corps in Germany as an enlisted man. Commissioned in the Army Reserve in 1960. Served as an infantry platoon leader.

1956-1958 Junior High Teacher - Kansas City Public Schools, Kansas City , Kansas.

1958-1962 Attended Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky. Graduated 1962 - Master of Divinity.

1958-1961 Pastored two Free Methodist Churches, Scottsville, KY and Petroleum, KY.

1962 Ordained an elder of the Wesleyan Church.

1962-1970 Wesleyan Chaplain, U.S. Navy:
    1962-1963 Naval Air Station, Point Mugu, CA
   
1963-1965 Destroyer Division 172, San Diego, CA
    1965-1967 Naval Training Center, San Diego, CA
    1967-1968 Marine Aircraft Group 36, Phubai, South Vietnam
    1968-1969 Naval Station, Treasure Island, San Francisco, CA
   
1969-1970 Naval Weapons Station, Concord, CA

1970 Released from active duty in the Navy at own request and started His Way Ministries.

1970 - Present His Way Ministries:

1970-1972 His Way office in a restaurant. Worked with high school and college students, had many converts.

1973-1975 Acquired facility in Concord, CA. Began church, restaurant, self service auto repair, mechanics garage, book & craft store and tire store. Operated these not only to give jobs to new Christians but to provide avenues of approach to the community and to do evangelism. Began mission trips to San Francisco for street witnessing.

1976 Placed the church, begun in Concord, under the Wesleyan District and moved to San Francisco. In San Francisco did Scripture distribution of 225,000 New Testaments door-to-door. Operated a crisis counseling line 24 hours a day. Did personal counseling, started a church, continued street evangelism.

1980 Retired from Naval Reserves.

1993 His Way congregation merged with another church and His Way moved to Kansas to develop Buffalo Ridge Hospitality & Retreat Center.

1994 - Present  Continues as Executive Director of His Way Ministries.  He also fills pulpits and does church consulting.
