We have been inundated with winter weather most of January and February. Although the weather has slowed us down a bit, we continue to make progress on the Fellowship Room. We finished putting down a wood floor over concrete, using reclaimed wood from an old barn. It has been tedious to work with, but looks very good. When sanded thoroughly, the floor will present the rustic but warm appearance that will be right for this specific room.
Do you remember Jacob’s Well, the restaurant His Way operated in the seventies? Those of you who were involved with His Way back in the Concord, California days might be interested in this little tidbit of information. We recently unpacked the old Jacob’s Well ceiling light fixtures and installed them in the new Fellowship Room. They were removed from Jacob’s Well before it was demolished by a bulldozer after the Concord property was condemned to make way for a new freeway off-ramp. They have been in storage all this time but are now functioning in the new Fellowship Room, which is being built as a memorial to Fleta Robinson. They look great in their present place and bring some warm nostalgia from the past.

A family is now living in the Staff House – Sam and Karen Renfro and six of their children. Sam was pastoring in Houston, Texas before coming here. He is doing a great job for us and Karen plans to help with retreat cooking and housekeeping. We have invited them to come on a provisional basis to see if we and they feel this is a good fit after they have been here a few months. If it is a good fit, their stay will still be conditional upon them being able to raise their support. We believe that if this is God’s will, He will provide the necessary support. Will you help us pray to that end?
The fireplace still needs to be constructed in the new Fellowship Room. If you have any experience in building fireplaces, we are looking for a volunteer to come and stay at Buffalo Ridge long enough to do the job. A heavy concrete foundation is waiting and someone here would work with you and assist.
2006 was a very busy year, as well as being a year full of change and transition for both the ministry and the individuals on the ministry staff.

The fee income from retreat participants has increased over the last two years (over 300%). However, because we charge such a minimal rate to come to Buffalo Ridge, these fees do not come close to covering the costs of hosting our guests. These costs include utilities, groceries, supplies, etc. Your financial support makes it possible for us to offer our services at a cost that most pastors can afford. Your gifts are multiplied as we aid and strengthen those already serving in other ministries. Thank you for your prayer and financial support!

Quotes from Oswald Chambers
My Utmost for His Highest
Being born of the Spirit means much more than we generally take it to mean. It gives us a new vision and keeps us absolutely fresh for everything by the perennial supply of the life of God.

The great difficulty spiritually is to concentrate on God, and it is His blessings that make it difficult. Troubles nearly always make us look to God; His blessings are apt to make us look elsewhere.

When once we get intimate with Jesus we are never lonely, we never need sympathy, we can pour out all the time without being pathetic. The saint who is intimate with Jesus will never leave impressions of himself, but only impressions that Jesus is having unhindered way . . . The only impression left by such a life is that of the strong calm sanity that our Lord gives to those who are intimate with Him.
Please pray for the His Way Board of Directors retreat here at Buffalo Ridge March 1-4.
Pray that if the Lord would have the Renfro’s join the His Way team that He would provide the financial support they need.
Please pray that the Lord would continue to bring those to Buffalo Ridge who would benefit from being here.
